  3. XL Hudson says: Second Life Mentors can help says:

    Greetings everyone !

    Greetings everyone !

If you have an ATI graphics card you MUST uncheck the Enable VBO in Preferences and the Adv Graphics Tab or if you are using the 1.20 client it is in Graphics tab and at the bottom right is Hardware Options. Also uncheck Shaders.

To find what Graphics card you have look under HELP and at the bottom About Second Life.
I have helped many people with this.

  4. fl0cale says:

AWESOME, i just tried a relog to see if anything would help and now THIS. I could have known it. How about a day WITHOUT problems?

  5. A/B Tester says:

I’m glad I checked before ‘TAKING’ an item, after trying to COPY first, which i worked on for 3 hours.
I lost 2 hours of work yesterday with this everlasting database issues.

I think i make a song next week, specially for SL:
    “The Neverending Database Issues”

  20. Ivy Lane says:

Hello I can’t tp anywhere either, what is all this lately? It’s so sad to see something that has incredible potential failing so miserably. Sales are down, land prices are done, residents feel dissatisfied, betrayed and annoyed. Many put their faith in you and built their business here, honed their skills and got on board with a dream for the future sadly they are not being honored and the dream is slowly turning surreal…….. will it become a nightmare?

  21. irish says:

glad to hear it’s not just me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. Josue Habana says:

Well I never. I am shocked. This has never happened before…

  24. River Ely says:

Yay. Great. I really look forward to your ace techies fixing these issues, it would be really cool if they could then turn their attention to some of the other issues as well.

Like Land Store, Island pricing, yadda yadda yadda

  25. Keri Pera says:

I have but one thing to say ……

*(throws herself on the floor in a fit of rage and beats the ground with her fists)*

*gets up dusts herself down calmly *

    Thanks for listening …..*walks away*

  26. Asyra Silverspar says:

    Gee… everything’s down again? WHAT A SURPRISE!

  27. gazza shabazz says:

Not again every time i try and login its the same problems surley after fixing the problem once it should not happen over and over again sounds like you need to wipe sl for a hole day clear everything give it a right good clean for 24 hours and then let people back in the day after ๐Ÿ™‚

  28. Shawnee DeCuir says:

Oh, joy of joys … once more I can’t log in. Havoc is sure living up to its name … there are more failures with this than any of the others. I have started to dream of failed transactions, login failure, etc. *sigh*

  29. Lyselle Munro says:

I thought something was up when the system didn’t want to take my item into inventory the first time…oh well, guess I’ll go eat lunch & watch a little TV ๐Ÿ™‚

/me crosses fingers that issues are taken care of soon as she can’t even log in now ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  30. Story Bachem says:

    ROFL wotta surprise :)))))

  31. honeydripper says:

I have been in SL for about a year and a half….these problems were very rare when i started…and now they are everyday occurrences…usually several times a day
OK…the sky was a bit grey and the water sort of bland…but it worked…i could move, rez, get dressed, tp, see who was online and talk to them…it is a good day now if i can do all of these, or any
Stop adding bells and whistles til the basics are fixed…please

  32. Jayson Imtiaz says:

More problems, more excuses for the problems no doubt. “Despite our best efforts..” sometims i wonder what that means when i see it. Will there ever be a day where LL comes forward and say’s “We know what the problem is and we know how to fix it!” Who knows…

  33. Vaa says:

Same issues over and over; replace the people.

  34. Inara Pey says:

How does the old tune go? Ah, yes…

“It seems to me Iโ€™ve heard that song before
“Itโ€™s from an old familiar score
“I know it well, that melodyโ€ฆ
“I know each word because Iโ€™ve heard that song before.”

  35. U M says:

OMG profiles are not loading, teleports are going crasy again..bla bla bla

  36. Undone Gina says:

Well good time for a Disk Scan and a Defrag ..maybe a spyware search wouldnt hurt ither.. Passes Time and gets things back in order

Happy friday BTW ..or Sat u know.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. Yanik says:

We are currently experiencing EXTREME patience with all the problems since over 3 weeks. We will update you as our anger grow up. Thank you for understanding.

  38. Renato says:

Might just aswell say were having normal days when we are running perfect we’ll post the update.

  39. Taeghen Bade says:

This is getting to be insane. I honestly can’t remember the last day that there were not in world issues. Linden Labs, please please worry less about upgrades and improvements and concentrate on making the wold stable enough as it is.

  40. I was just wondering, if I’m the only one….. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you for you fast notice & information. Keep it up, Lindens. ๐Ÿ™‚

  41. arlo weir says:

hope number 2 was beeing sarcastic. then yeah right ๐Ÿ˜ก

  42. Nic Aquacade says:

How would I have guessed that a relog wouldn’t help. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  43. mexico sim says:

  44. Melissa Superior Lands says:

You silly people, stop complaining! It’s to do with Havoc 4 allowing more people to log on in SL at once and the servers can’t handle it, so it’s overloaded and crashing.

Its really SL running TOO WELL, thats why its overloaded.

  45. JackJack Oh says:

  46. Torben Trautman says:

Hahaha, I donยดt even know what to say anymore… Oh wait, Iยดll call a friend and play Second Life in real life… lmao

  47. quadboy1 says:

please will it work can you tell when will it be back

  48. Laurent Kesslinger says:

It seems these “please be patient” and “multiple in-world issues” notifications are pretty much a daily occurrence anymore. Perhaps overreached on the last upgrade? For those of us trying to run businesses, it’s not exactly a “popularity enhancing feature” in your service….

  49. SelviraMuunlite Nightfire says:

Objects are not rezzing or going back into the inventory either ๐Ÿ˜‰

  50. Mariejosette says:

i still cannot start the programme itself but that sounds like a good news!
THANKS to LL i feel much better now

  51. Unmitigated Gall says:

This has really got to stop happening. This is no longer a daily event, but nearly an hourly event. You really need to consider a complete refund of all premium user fee’s for the entire month. You are killing our ability to do business; the refund would be barely enough to recognize that.

  52. Ryou says:

Log on impossible for me and can’t acces at main SL homepage

  53. A/B Tester says:

Would be nice to send an in-world message, so you won’t lose hours of work if you do not check if you can copy it to your inventory first and just take it and lose it in the void.

Because of course there is no Linden coming to help if you just spend hours scripting and it cannot be saved due to ‘issues’.

Anyone ever did an estimate on how much money loss is involved due to these ‘issues’ which are just about the only constant in Second Life?

  54. Tid Kidd says:

oh wow! only the second time in my WHOLE Second Life that the Blog has been open for comments… so

    YAAAAY !!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    oh wait – we can’t login… so

    BOOOOO !!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Faced with this rare opportunity to express herself, /me runs out of words…

…then runs out of the room, seeking chocolate

  55. BlckCobra Shikami says:

What about warning people inworld aswell?

I am tired of refunding failed purchases and replacing items which were not delivered due to database problems and dealing with frustrated customers
Several weeks now and there seems no solution but switching of services.

    Meanwhile very frustrated aswell, Cobra

  56. Cael Merryman says:

I made the mistake of starting up a new avatar recently. Now I am selling land and will make this an occasional experience. Hope to be at zero tier across the board and only spending the $ L300 until the subscription runs out.

Since I have been here for a year or so, I have to ask – what is with the completely irregular messaging about problems? Sometimes its on the blog, recently it was in the middle of the front page of SL’s site and only occasionally does anyone bother to put it on the splash screen for log-ins WHERE IT WOULD BE MOST USEFUL. What’s the point in knowing about a problem only after its been, uh, well, resolved?

When I sit down at 4:00 am and log into SL for a moment, I don’t want to have to check three pages on the Internet before logging on…

Good luck people, meaning the residents. The Lindens shouldn’t be relying on luck as much as they evidently do. Fortunately there is a new Harry Dresden book out, so something to do tonight.

  57. quadboy1 says:

logged off and would no come back?

  58. Cristina Elvehjem says:

yes yes keep up the good work!! T_T and if possible return me 30000 items to my inventory, i lost them 3 weeks ago and they haven’t appeared yet. I’m so angry but yes… keep up the good work

  59. Bliss Crimson says:

aaaack hope this resolves soon. a lot of people outside SL were going to come in world to see something I build @_@ sighs… I logged out to try and move my avatar to another sim, when relogging, and now am stuck outside

  60. Masuyo Aabye says:

I have the uttermost respect for Linden labs and the fact that SL exsists is a miracle. but dudes, really.. whats up? almost every day now we get the same blog posting. how about kicking off all bots and idle sitting avatars (campers) that would reduce the load on the system.

  61. Lars says:

Please evaluate the release of the HAVOK 4 update with the almost simultaneous release of the new client! Page one of every software development book reads do not change things at different at server and client side when you can avoid it. Since this simultaneous release SL is a mess!!!

  62. @44 >> ok then we all prefer WITHOUT Havok 4 and no daily crashes, or any maintenance every 12 hours !

  63. Paula Jetcity says:

This is happening to often now…. people loose money and it is too often now. Despite all your best efforts, it is really too much.

  64. Kimo Junot says:

Here we go AGAIN and soon they will say it is “RESOLVED” and we all know that it wont be “RESOLVED” All that Havov 4 did for everyone was to create TOTAL HAVOC and it never seems to end.

  65. Marin Tigerpaaw says:

    typical… just typical….

  66. Raven Primeau says:

same old Sh@t from LL almost every damn day now!

  67. Bee Mizser says:

This is getting beyond a joke now. It has been happening almost every day for over a month.

  68. sunshine Kukulcan says:

Awwww..this isnt gonna be good for the SL sale is it?

@ Honeydripper: I agree. Id give up Windlight and Havok4 just to get some stability.

What irks me most is no goodfaith show from LL at all, no refunds, no lower tier rates prorated, no one month free membership, etc. They know they have a cash cow, and so long as the members continue to buy, they simply dont care.

And at least the same old sh-t started early today..usually around 12 N SLT.

    Sign me, DISGUSTED

  69. Stoo Straaf says:

I don’t often comment on blogs, but when I do you can be sure it’s because I am extremely motivated to do so.

There are thousands of people struggling to run their businesses in a climate of a) unstable systems and b) unpredictable price changes.

Now, I can recall last August when we had some major technical issues and SL was a pig to use for a few weeks. We did recover from that, and the product has become so much better since then.

I think the real killer blow to some businesses this month has been the double deploy of a new server AND a new client. That makes bug fixing next to impossible because you don’t really know which one is causing the problems.

I think you are probably doing just about the best you can under the circumstances, but PLEASE remember that when you change things on a whim, with no real warning, you are affecting REAL businesses run by REAL people with REAL money invested in Second Life.

  70. Rabid Tiger says:

Gee, imagine that. I suppose, once again, we’ll be fed the story about how this is unrelated to all the constant issues we’ve been having lately and be expected to believe you when you CLAIM it is resolved only to have it break, yet again, later today or tomorrow.

  71. Laelynn Voom says:

*Sighs* I am absolutley speechless. I’m just……I’m getting so fed up. OMG!! Maybe we should all just forget rezzing anything and dance around naked in this la la land.

  72. quadboy1 says:

come back please i own rentals and lozing monney help!!!!!!!

  73. Seann Sands says:

Great. ;( Can we go through at least ONE DAY without problems? What happened to the “reliability will be our prime focus” statement?

  74. Fortuna Felwitch says:

When I pay for something, be it a washing machine or an online game, I expect if to work and not break down on a daily basis.

  75. Haroldthe Burrel says:

*yawn* Another day that ends in ‘Y’ at Linden Lab.

This has rapidly become the norm, not an aberration.

  76. Stary Dreamscape says:

well, we knew it was too good to be true, I was looking forward to a little bit of alone time with my sl partner, I re log to make sure everything runs smooth and BAM, can’t get back in, only hope its back up for me to DJ in a hour

  77. J2 Yoshikawa says:

    Which issues? LOL

  78. Chantal Otsuka says:

Instead of making updates how about fixing the old bug jeeezzz everyday sl problems hands up for the great team every day linden trouble logg in trouble items loading trouble litle sl prayer
Dear SL give us oure daily lag
Do not lets us log in
    Deliverus from smooth graphics

  79. Lear Cale says:

Well, they recognized the problem and posted on the blog within 10 minutes of the problem starting, which is commendable.

Good luck sorting it out, guys.

  80. Stsfuzzybear Hush says:

Last 2 times I was stuck were fruitful. First I built a house, cause I couldn’t build clothes. Second: same, except I forgot an exit hole to put a door in. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This time I am stuck on a sandbar with one store I don’t like. I just wanna go home. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  81. Kissa says:

In world issues again ๐Ÿ˜ฆ , teleports, profiles , search, money transaction, can’t upload no clothing textures or even pictures. this is getting to really be a pain in the butt Linden Labs , your main site doesn’t even load . called Linden Labs Company they say well go to support well be nice if it would load so I could go too it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ .. But thanks to someone that got thru to report the problems we all are having once again that LL claims they fixed . well I guess it wasn’t fixed after all huh LL ?
    shakes head

  82. Jaycatt Nico says:

I’m not sure why they enabled comments for this post, but from what I’ve read so far, apparently it’s to give people a place to vent!

  83. Raven Primeau says:

whers the oooh well done LL suck ar@es now saying how wonderful this crap is?????????????????????????

  84. Keishaa Meili says:

Oh thanks Lindens, I love when I can’t log in: lets me time to think about my RL. Extreme subtlety of this social engineering experiment.

  85. Joel Ra says:

Nice to see you really are concentrating on stability this year =P

  86. Gerald Wylie says:

Here we go again. it would be nice if someone would feedback to us, the SL customers, what causes these outages. Many of us are technical people and it seems inexplicable that the same problems occur with such regularity. What is the cause?

    Ah, well.

    Gerald Wylie

  87. Jayson Imtiaz says:

    As #44 said

“You silly people, stop complaining! Itโ€™s to do with Havoc 4 allowing more people to log on in SL at once and the servers canโ€™t handle it, so itโ€™s overloaded and crashing.

Its really SL running TOO WELL, thats why its overloaded.”

Right so maybe the lindens should spend some of the shed loads of currency that passes through their wallets on a daily basis and upgrade it a little? Atleast with other MMO’s you get what you pay for, and the money goes back into the game. Whenever you buy Linden dollars or pay tier in this land, it just goes to the “Buy Phil Linden lots of nice new shoes” fund. Simple as that.

  88. Marianne McCann says:

This has been a near daily issue: any background forthcoming on just what is going on — and more importantly, when will we see a much more permanent resolution?

  89. Adam Spark says:

Why not just take resolved off of yesterdays post…

and keep it off for a while this time.

  90. Antonyno says:

*bangs his head mindlessy on the wall, trying to break it for passing his time as he waits.. or just to discover if its more fun than playing a buggy SL*

  91. Mazok Nishi says:

Did anyone out of the Linden Team acually recognize that you guys are destroying any single bit of faith regarding Linden ? And your Capablity of managing such an enviroment ? Every single Day we have to bear with this kind of “issues” … I’ve pumped more money into the SecondLife Economie then most of others, and i was proud to do so, but Linden, i’m as anyone else who try to do real Buisness in SL, unwilling and unable to follow your “take it or leave it policy” Think about it, as soon as possible everyone with Buisness or Creative aproche will leave the Linden Grid, and stick with one of the growing alternative Grids … i really dont know what you Lindens doing other there …

  92. ashira Little says:

When will all these problems be fixed? it’s always something new every day.

  93. Aira Jun says:

well, yea, samesame… not as if we wouldnt already anticipate that “today” will be going on something with assets or logins…

cant you at least keep the logins free from this disruption that we can at least LOG and communicate if maybe even our assets are asshats again?

am sure many ppl would appreciate that…

  94. June Oh says:

Why say Resolved on Log in screen when it is not, I can’t log in.
Hope this is soon fixed, I’m sorry but it seems we can’t go 1 day without a major fault.
    Love, June.

  95. Prospero Linden says:

Re: what’s up. It doesn’t have anything to do with Havok4 or with new clients. It has to do with the fact that our central database is currently struggling under the load of the size of Second Life.

We have a number of things in progress to alleviate this. Some of them are in the 1.21 server deploy which we’ve had so much trouble getting out. The _current_ database problem (as of 9:43AM on 04/17) may or may not be a result of something we did that made the database perform more efficiently last week. We _do_ have new database server hardware on order, and within the next few weeks that will be in place and will alleviate problems. Future system design (some of which you can learn about by attending Zero Linden’s AWG office hours) will reduce our dependence on a single central database.

In the mean time, yes, the last few weeks have been painful for you and for us. We’re doing everything we can to reduce the pain as much as possible.

  96. Joshua Philgarlic says:

I try to calm down ’cause this all is “to improve stability” :-(((.

    BUT IT SUCKS!!!!!!

  97. Lousy Linden Laymen says:

A total mess and a supreme failure by the Lindens it seems.
This is the worst thing ever. NO TP, NO Inventory, NO Nothing.

When I joined SL, I believed the people behind it were professional, now I can see they are a bunch of amateurs – who after every attempt to upgrade only seem to accomplish even worse functionality.

Most of the fun in SL is destroyed by these so called improvements, I once thought that the beta and firstview were the test facilities – and I was convinced that the products coming out from these tests should operate properly.

Yikes, what a huge pukable mistake I made.

Maybe two months off then – wasting the tier for nothing and then maybe a retry.

LL and SL sucks today ๐Ÿ˜›

  98. Laelynn Voom says:

I think we only add fuel to the fire, and someone in the system is breaking things just to see how far our rant and raves go. I know one thing, I’m done for today. (Shakes her head sadly). Have a good day everyone.

  99. BobbiJo Jonson says:

Well, not my computer.. is a blessing…
and.. since I was just going to shop… you saved Me from trying to rezz in a crowded store, only unable to buy anything..

and .. thank goodness.. I haven’t changed My dancing clothes from last night…

Hoping you hurry.. before work calls Me in

  100. Silk Aeon says:

I dont remember even one day due last 6 months without INworld issues influence on all residents. How much it wil happened again and again? Why no problems SHOWN main screen while entering a game? why I need go here to see this? I lost 20 minutes waitng for login.. but here we are YOU HAVE INWORLD ISUSES BUT GAME SCRREN STILL DONT KNOW ABOUT THIS!!! IS IT SO HARD TO ANNOUNCE ALL IN TIME???

  101. Shawnee DeCuir says:

@44 Oh Melissa, YOU are the silly one. If SL were running TOO well wouldn’t it be running on servers that COULD take it? Think about it, dear *smiles* No servers = no SL … that is not running well at all as this problem is proving day after day after day after day, ad infinitum, ad nauseum, etc, etc

  102. Fi says:

    [Resolved] ???????

    : (

  103. Matti Deigan says:

Wow, the website is giving 500 Internal Service Error,…

Whats causing all of these recent problems? May you lindens explain the causes of these massive server outages? I mean sure, the new client works wonderfully without many -major bugs- (or atleast for me), but the server side has been rather horrible now.

  104. JackJack Oh says:

@82: it’s good to see comments open… so ppl will complain in the right thread and not in torley’s posts. ๐Ÿ˜›

  105. Christine Fearne says:

Hmmm… begins to wonder if I should just sell all my land for whatever I can get for it, and quit. Everytime I try to log on to take care of my business, there are technical problems. Maybe they can’t handle all the traffic on SL. Either way, Im not sure how you can do business with all the issues. This is a sure way to destroy a barely blooming economy. Maybe we should get out while the gettin’s good.

    /me sneers with annoyance.

  106. Stop changing it! FIx it and dont touch it… no more new release… we want it working … why flashy if then you can’t even login!!!

Or competitors will come and you are gone Linden!

  107. Ha says:

Again Sl is screwing up u know what the hell with it im going to 3rd life anyone want to join me feel free there is less lag and better service bye bye

  108. Guru Dreamscape says:

OK is it just me or is there a pattern to this….

    answers on a postcard please…

  109. Liana Pera says:

    Yay, recess! EVERYBODY OUTSIDE!

  110. jok3r cioc says:

  111. GeeJay says:

Ok…was working and I crashed but can’t come back !!!
omg, the visitors are without me ! :(((

  112. U M says:

This is getting scary now. I never seen this game in such bad condition……I really am worried now, i never seen such failures, broken, and unworkerable part of SL in my 4 years almost. I not going to scream the sky is falling, but we are on the edge of MT.Fuji with 10 kilo of weights onthe right and seemly forcing us down in a a long flight down crashing down down down……….to the deeps of the unknown……….

  113. Fed up with the rants says:

It is getting a bit tiring reading these blogs and getting people ranting about things they clearly no nothing about.

@14 – why do you think this has been caused by the gambling and banking ban ? After all if anything they will have reduced the load on the servers – not increase it, and banning unregulated banking surely is a good thing – as it protects residents from potential fraud.

@29 – Why on earth do you thinkk that the login and asset problems has anything to do with Havok. The Login and asset servers are not affected by the Havok PHYSICS changes, which controls how objects move on the sims, not how you can log in. If you are going to start blaming bits of the infrastructure at least try to learn how it works.

  114. B. Seiling says:

    I WANT A REFUND!!!!!!!!

  115. Demeter says:

Come on guys, EVERY DAY now? MULTIPLE times a day??

Shut off the grid for 48 hours and go through it with an industrial can of RAID. FIX THE DAMN THING.

  116. gekkie kidd says:

i cant login to the website ( internal error 500 )
and i cant login in to SL

and on top of that my items in my inventory i cant rezz in world
    for the last 2 days

    what is going on ????

    gekkie Kidd

  117. H. Blanco says:

    Here we go again.

  118. Umbra Lunardi says:

I’m not usually one to complain about performance of the SL platform, but honestly! I’ve been tracking these issues and there has not been ONE SINGLE DAY in the past three weeks that there have not been multiple, severe failures of the SL service. (Basically since deployment of

Linden Lab gets $95 USD a month from me on top of my Premium Membership and THIS is what I’m getting for my money??? I decided to “vote with my wallet” and I cashed out my Linden dollars and had the money sent to Paypal. My account had considerable assets. Cashing out was as close as I could get to “getting my money back”, and that will have to do. I encourage you to do similarly and vote with your wallet.

The client is seriously troubled and we are expected to ride it out till they get it repaired. Hmmmm. Consider this: if your cell phone company provided service of this quality for $95 a month, you’d be screaming for your money back, I suspect.

  119. sexina Rayna says:

SL is to complex, to many systems with majorbugs.
    Linden loose the control.

I don’t belive that they are able to fix it.

We have to live with the daily offtime and the slow or not working services until SL is completly closed in near futeure.

  120. Inara Pey says:

    @ Shawnee DeCuir

In fairness to the Lindens, these problems are nothing to do with Havok 4.0…..

…..They are down to the fact the entire Asset Cluster seems to be held together by ceiling wax and wallpaper paste and communicates via wet string connected to empty yoghurt pots….

  121. Chro says:

Down Again????????? and over again and tomorrow again well…….. SL rules LOL omg!!!!!!

  122. stoeipoes21 says:

How many times do whe have to aksept that sl is getting wors.
Sl was a good game but now it is noting more then lag problems en lots more.
You ol need to find a solution before you lose a lot of costermers

  123. Unmitigated Gall says:

Thanks Melissa for the Really funny Joke in message 44…

“You silly people, stop complaining! Itโ€™s to do with Havoc 4 allowing more people to log on in SL at once and the servers canโ€™t handle it, so itโ€™s overloaded and crashing.

Its really SL running TOO WELL, thats why its overloaded.”

That is a really funny assesment of the issue… What Havock 4 has to do with the transaction and login servers I will never understand. Hehe, but you made me chuckle….

  124. Mariejosette says:

how much time will LL need to solve my problem with the start up crash!
I never had problems with second life and i am content in the way of working
    but i am frustrating
    i am not sure anymore

  125. Bart Seymour says:

But on the otherhand, keep up the good job, i know its very hard to deal with the amount of users you got, at least you should make some decisions against BOT ghost avatars, those are overloading the system big time!!

  126. Laraya says:

…oh, this is really good….as far as I remember you just proudly presented the last inworld issues to be resolved…. I am not sure whether you managed to keep the system stable for 10 or 11 hours, but even if the system was stable for only 5 hours, this is already much better, than what you did in the Labs over the last months. I really congratulate you to having your jobs…since I guess in our company with a similar performance you were fired quickly. Good luck to you further

  127. Mrs Waco says:

Hmmmm..This is excelent…You would think after a month of this happening you would know how to stop it, Tihs has easily been the worst month I have seen in sl, Losing money from no buisness because of crashing, Losing items because of god knows what, And most of all….
Im missing my own wedding because of this, Thanks a million LL

  128. Cory Doctorow says:

Woooo! Worked on a project which I can redo all over again now…
    Makes me so happy!

  129. nimi says:

  130. Vampira says:

Arrgh damnit! Just as i was about to ask a guy out. Timing timing ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  131. Kittrannia Cassini says:

You really need to sort out your priorities at Linden Labs. What is more important to you….30,000 happy customers or 60,000 (30,000 bots) causing server overload.

It is becoming impossible to run a business with your ineptitude.

  132. wow the blog sure does get full faster lol

  133. Simking glanz says:

Thanks alot ll i was spending time with my girl told her i was gonna relog and the you pull this bs thanks get freaking Alien ware servers damn it they made for gaming duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  134. *gets up on her soapbox*

The Lindens are working as best they can. You should be grateful that a program like this even exists, let alone techies that are working 24/7 to keep it working. I mean c’mon. You can’t get service like this in real life sometimes, so lay off them ffs.
Eventually if they start seeing that so many of you are going to throw a hairy every time something goes wrong, they’re not going to want to do this for you. It may be a bummer to us to not be able to use the program as efficiently as before, but it’s also a bummer for them when something goes wrong because instead of understanding people who pat them on the back and say “it’s ok bud, I understand, just do the best you can” and patiently wait for things to come back online, they’re met with scorn, immature attitudes, and anger.

Maybe instead of sitting at your computer shaking and trembling, biting your nails, praying and hoping for your virtual life to come on.. go outside and take a walk. Go read a book. Go do something you’ve been putting off for days. I’m actually kinda glad it’s down at the moment cause now I’m going to go do the math work I’ve been putting off.

it’ll still be there when you get back.

    thank you

*gets off her soapbox and leaves*

  135. a says:

how can u tag a post solved if the problem comes again in 3 hours?

  136. What good are all these high-tech “upgrades” if everyday we cannot TP, cannot log-in, need to review all transactions that have “gone stale” and generally have a negative non-experience?..Personally, realistic water is way down the list of things i would like to “see” in SL.

  137. Paula Jetcity says:

Despite all your best efforts, people should stop paying a service they don’t have.

  138. Again!
Competitors are welcome to this game!
    Crappy service!

  139. Alfons says:

Yes 1000 reasons why a system can crash…but every day?

    Well…good luck Lindens…

  140. Mavi Beck says:

I’m hosting an important event this weekend on my land and I am really dreading it now…

  141. whoeveritis says:

well well…does somebody think we can have at least one day in the near future without that continuing database problems?
should be better to improve the system instead of adding, adding, adding new crap nobody needs into a unstable system…

if i want grafix like a playstation or an xbox i USE a playstation or an xbox…
why not keeping the windlight viewer seperate instead of adding that to the normal viewer? in laggy rpg sims you can’t use it anyways without permacrashing and laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaging even more…

it’s a really great invironment which LL created with SL…but more problems and more excuses for more problems still keep me away from spending more time and more money than needed here…
think i’m not the only one who would upgrade his account immediately without that many problems…

hope you guys solve it PERMANANTELY pretty soon

  142. Soo Novi says:

My vote is for another time frame of “one month with no improvements and just working on stability issues.” I’m happy to wait for 1.20’s avatar rendering cost features and the new ceiling functionality, if it will mean more reliable asset servers in the long run.

  143. Fledermaus Messmer says:

Have you considered a well-planned, well-announced, 12-24 hour total outage to turn loose all the technicians and really dig into the “issues?” (Issues is such a euphamism, they are PROBLEMS. Issues are discussed, problems need to be FIXED). As a former technician I am still amazed at the deployment of new software systems before existing problems have been repaired. If something is broken in the system, adding new software is only going to complicate the problem. SL is a fantastic world; Linden Labs did an amazing job putting it together. Now it’s time to get the more mundane work done and not worry about new features and such; get it working, please! ๐Ÿ™‚

  144. Marin Tigerpaw says:

Very frustrating indeed….Why is it always something.. every single day…..

  145. marmottina taurog says:

at least I now not it’s not only me….

This is not the way to run a business sl…you’re going to lose custom with the mess that’s happening right now…what a shame…I love sl

  146. Methos5000sewi Rammidge says:

Others have said what I feel, so no need for me to go there. However, one REQUEST when these situations occur: Instead of placing a blog item called ‘Second Life In-World Service Issues’, entitle it ‘SL In-World Service Issues-LOGIN ISSUE, Etc.’. That might prevent some of us from wasting our time, attempting logins. This is what leads to a large part of frustration from the “not yet logged in” crowd.

As for those folks logged in, when the system tanks, I would appreciate client software that REALIZES a crash has taken place. As it is, I wasted time typing, “Hey, is anyone having problems rezzing objects?” “Is anyone having problems teleporting?” “Is anyone having problems attaching items?”. I would rather be kissed before I’m f…failing via time-outs…rather than a nice, cheerful raised finger (the latter being preferable).

  147. irish says:

honestly.. just as RL has it’s interruptions, SL has it’s imperfections. While it makes our business tough to run, at least it’s known by all SL users that there is a problem with the program. And most all customers ARE going to be SL users.
Yeah it’s driving me nuts too, and i’d like to log in to finish a project i promised done by tonight, but do you really think complaining to this extent is going to change it? Has it yet? Everyones been complaining right off the bat since these problems started, and believe it or not, LL loses customers themselves due to all these interruptions. So you can bet they aren’t purposelly not getting things fixed.

  148. Cocoanut Koala says:

I want a refund on my last month’s tier, as a good faith effort to make it right by the residents.

  149. Wolf Seisenabacher says:

Nuu! I crashed and now I cant log back in! I am nothing without second life! I am addicted! :: scratches arms… :: Even through the 50 viewer crashes daily, and the 1 database problem per day, I am still addicted! I remember a time (December of 2006) when I could stay online, no crashes, no database problems, for 48 hours straight, now I cant stay on 2 hours before i get a crash!!!

  150. Joel Ra says:

/me wonders if phils nice new shoes keep getting stuck up his….
