[RESOLVED @ 12:13 am PDT] Packet loss under investigation

[31 Aug, 07 @ 12:13 am PDT]

Our normal routes have been restored for our use. Thank you for your patience, and good night šŸ™‚

[30 Aug, 07 @ 10:58 PM PDT]

We’re currently taking advantage of some alternate routing set up for us by our upstream provider. The Grid appears mostly stable and regions properly interconnected; however, we’re aware that there are some areas on the map where that isn’t true for everyone.

For now, your ability to see a neighboring region or to cross a region border on foot or by flying may vary from your friends’, depending on the route between us and you. If you find yourself unable to cross a border or staring at a void where a neighboring region should be, please try direct teleporting rather than flying or walking.

We don’t have any new status reports from upstream on the repair effort. As we get advisories, we’ll post them.

Some type of performance issue has developed involving multiple high-level routers within the continental USA.

Repair efforts are currently projected to take between two and three hours coast-to-coast.

More updates as we get them…

About twenty-five minutes ago, we began experiencing high packet loss between our San Francisco and Dallas colocation facilities. This is impacting both logins for many residents and inter-regional communications within The Grid. We’re working with our own upstream providers to isolate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we’ll keep you posted.
