First Look: Render Pipeline Update 58390 Now Available

First Look 1.13.3.58390 is now available for download.

Well, we clearly didn’t get First Look: Render Pipeline Improvements out this week, despite our best efforts. We have been focused on bug fixing and this version should address many of the bugs that have been a cause of concern.

This includes a fix that should improve performance with Norton AntiVirus software. You may still experience delays with texture loads unless you exclude the cache directory from your Anti Virus scans, however there should be minimal effect on framerate.

We fixed some issues with VBO support on Intel graphics hardware, hopefully this will reduce crashes on Intel cards significantly.

Once again, thank you for all of the feedback, we will continue to read it and work to improve Second Life.
Thanks,

-Steve

  1. Fenrir Reitveld says:

Sorry, I’m not a mind reader, nor do I share a neural tissue connection with the Linden Collective. πŸ˜€

What’s the change log for this revision?

  2. Hannah Shenley says:

Keep up the good work, this is a vital improvement to the second life software if it is to scale and develop into an even better platform than it is at the moment. good luck getting it out next week

  3. Hannah Shenley says:

Now the first post looks really silly, lol

  4. Maczter Oddfellow says:

Here’s hoping that “* Fix for attachments getting left behind” also covers attachments getting left IN my behind! πŸ˜‰

  5. Cappy Frantisek says:

Will this work with the router problems?

  6. Maczter Oddfellow says:

    I miss my Sweet Escape….

The ESC key no longer closes the Chat input box or returns the camera to default…or anything else that I can tell. 😦

  7. Lyn Mimistrobell says:

Mac: That’s not a first-look bug, happens in the old viewer also πŸ™‚

    bug update:
Today I reported a bug that a HUD (for wings) wasn’t working in first-look but was working in old viewer – this new version solved it.

A bug I reported earlier this week about cursor behaviour in textfields is still valid. Ctrl+Cursor Right moves incorrectly if a word is followed by interpunction or newline.

Thank you for the fixes and thank you for your continuing patience πŸ™‚

    Lyn

  8. Leo says:

Did you fix the ram memory leakage from the last version?

  9. Maczter Oddfellow says:

Lyn, I have never experienced the Esc key being ignored in SL. It’s a new bug to me.

  10. Wilhelm Neumann says:

PLEASE THIS IS A BEG put the accounting history BACK into the game this is the second viewer i am UNISNTALLING its unusable if you sell things ingame because you can’t verify money gains or losses. With all the bugs thingsl ike money trees are routinely malfunctioning and you have to watch your account history like a hawk to find where you are loosing money and act fast. PLEASE PLEASE put this back now 😦

  11. Maya Remblai says:

    * Fix for dismissing one blue dialogs dismisses all blue dialogs

This isn’t fixed. I can still reproduce the bug 100% of the time.

  12. Sylvia Sonoda says:

The past two weeks I followed the comments on the first viewer. Oh man, since the normal viewer works rather good for me I really hope we don’t have to update to this new viewer. For me it looks like there are much more bugs(and maybe coming fixes) in than the one I use now.
And I use “on the edge hardware” with my Nvideo GeForce Mx-440 (64mb) card on a AMD 1700Mhz system. I don’t have money to buy a new computer. Is this new viewer the end of SL for me??

  13. Okay, the annoyance with the FL client sometimes taking 8-10 minutes to load the first time it’s run after a reboot = Fixed. YAY!

    But now… oh dear.

    1. Crashed and couldn’t get back on, I’m getting “The system is logging you out right now” for the last 40 minutes.

    2. The Account History now brings me to the http page in my browser. Now despite having 36 transactions made today (sold stuff) above L$0 according to my balance and according to that page…. when it took me to the web version of the transaction report I realized that less than 1/3 of my transactions (exclusing L$0 ones) were listed.

Someone bought a bird from my vendor, and didn’t recieve it. So I went to check the account history to verify that I’d gotten a payment from the person. Lo and behond, there was no payment listed at all on the secure webpage. So I log into the OLD viewer and check my account history on it, and… well, there it is. I send him a replacement to cover his loss. No worries there.

But still, if I could not have gone back to the old viewer for that, I’d have assumed he was trying to scam me, as there was no record on the webpage that he’d paid my vendor.

So the question is: The information on the webpage version of L$ transaction history appears to be very much incorrect. Is this going to make it into the release? I sure hope not…

  14. Funk Schnook says:

@Steve Linden: Why has World > Account history changed? Is it going to lead to the web site from now on?

ESC doesnt work on my ibook or on my windows box

  15. Funk Schnook says:

Dialog box fix doesnt work either

  16. Ann Otoole says:

hey can you guys slip in an option to turn off action stars? that junk is usless and is really annoying while trying to work with tiny prims. its blinding and overall serves no purpose at all. don’t even need the avatar animation with the broken twisted arms anyway. less code less bugs less bandwidth/mem etc.

  17. Yup, Escape is broken- Almost made me splat while skydiving! πŸ˜›

  18. Huns says:

As other people have reported, the Esc doesn’t do anything at all, even repositioning the camera.

Vehicle stutter bug and llSetSoundQueueing() are still unfixed.

For some reason, my character likes to rebake its textures at odd times. This makes me stand up.

My HUD was having an issue where I’d llPlaySound() something but it wouldn’t actually play… that seems cleared up now.

Touching transparent HUD buttons now works again, which should fix lots of previously mentioned problems.

McAffee also causes slow texture loads, but if I set it to only scan programs and documents, it is very fast. Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to exclude specific directories, and I’d like to leave “scan everything” turned on.

    Irritants:

    * “Account History” goes to website that’s not updated in timely manner

    * ESC no longer closes chat… or resets camera… and stuff

  20. Jillian Callahan says:

Removing account history from the client while leaving broken the account history on the web site is what we in the profession like to call “bone-headed”. When will this be corrected?

  21. Jillian Callahan says:

By the way, physical objects moving in roughly linear trajectories are updated FAR FAR too little, making vehicles nearly unusable. I’ve not seen this bug (and yes, it’s a bug, even if it’s as you intend) acknowledged, please let us know that you know about it and intend to fix it, please?

  22. william Fish says:

    12 Sylvia Sonoda

wouldnt consider that on edge.. below edge rather.. i bet your using a socket A or 939 socket.. you can upgrade your video card to a 6600-6800 agp card for less then 100 us dollars. give that a go. That’s what i did and it’s way better. (btw i had the same exact video card as you).

FL viewer… hmmmm I was once all excited bout this client… now i hesitate to even bother with downloading it. I understand it’s a real working beta.. but… untilall the bugs are fixed from the ORIGINAL FL VIEWER i see no point in downloading this one. Just like all the clients SL ever made, each “new” one gives “new” bugs and rarely fixes the old bugs that are being reported left and right.

This could be one kick arse client
    sigh

  23. Gillian Waldman says:

Will definitely not be trying this viewer if ESC key no longer resets camera….etc.

Also, sounds like the random rebaking avatar thing is still happening.

  24. oldskool says:

I really REALLY REALLY need the account history in the client. I have to go back to the regular viewer until this feature is put back in the FL viewer, and thats too bad because otherwise it was great. This would still be annoying if the webpage was up to date, but with the web account history being hours behind (maybe even a day) its completely crippling.

  25. william Fish says:

    13 Psyra Extraordinaire
for the past month now, the website transaction page has been delayed really bad.. I have yet to see or read any LINDEN reporting that they are fixing this problem.. wait strike that .. troley linden did mention something with the query and stuff that needed to be rewritten *sigh* Like you, i rely heavily on that webpage to show me what’s up… now gotta wait 6 hours just to see it. I can’t stress HOW IMPORTANT it is that we get a current up-to-date report on our accounts!!!! yet another reason why im sticking with the old client 😦

  26. william Fish says:

hey while we are here… i was talking about this to a friend in world. Can someone please tell me why we need clouds? Does anyone ever just look up and stare at the clouds? I have to disable clouds (leads to improve fps) every time i log in. Can’t we make this a disabled feature and only enabled when you want it to show? Why must it be reset every time i log on? Can’t i just click off rendering, type, clouds ONCE? just wondering. Im sure it would increase bandwidth at the most.

  27. Sean H says:

Darn esc don’t work, but the sky seems fixed and my wings are back πŸ™‚

  28. Alicia Mounier says:

S0 far i haven’t seen any improvement with this one, it’s like i was using the main viewer cept with more bugs. Alot of stuttering going on, physical objects messing up. Is it possible to go back and get a later version of the first look viewer or am I stuck with this one?

  29. Gareee taov says:

I’m seeing particles issues, with them just plain not even showing up

  30. Micah Giha says:

Something new: I have a space about 100 pixels wide on the menu bar that is blank (bar background color) where prohibited action icons, region name and coordinates are supposed to be. I typically see only part of the coordinates and PG/Mature rating plus whatever description would normally follow. Bug report filed with screenshot.

  31. Nigel Paravane says:

I’m seeing the same problem under Windows XP that Micah just reported.

  32. Kira says:

    @ Ann Otoole

” hey can you guys slip in an option to turn off action stars?”

    top of screen hunnie

    uncheck it. πŸ™‚

  33. Ann Otoole says:

    ty kira!

  34. coldFuSion Cheeky says:

This is the first version of FL I will NOT bother downloading.

With Dialog boxes bug still present and now ESC not working…

I think i’ll sit this one out 😦

  35. 23skidoo says:

With the vast list of bugs and issues to address why are getting fixes for officially unsupported hardware (Intel video cards) and problems with external applications (norton) were there is a workaround. Is no one prioritising these sorts of things. Whats totally depressing is that I can honestly see both YES and NO being the correct answer to this , and I am not sure if either is more alarming.

  36. Funk Schnook says:

Clicking a vendor set to BUY OBJECT on left click doesnt work

  37. Maya Remblai says:

Oh, and full bright objects are still rainbow colored.

And for those few that haven’t seen the Blue Box Bug yet:

    1) Do something to make two dialog windows come up, such as buy from a vendor.
    2) Click “OK” or “Accept” or whatever.

    ALL the boxes vanish.

  38. Xeliaa Zeluco says:

Esc button no longer works like it used to by closing out chat bars and by recentering your view to get out of bad viewing situations. will that be restored in the next updates? its a very usefull feature that many may have gotten very used to.

  39. Micah Giha says:

Shoes, Hair and other attachments still move to inappropriate locations on teleport.

  40. Estrellito Losangeles says:

Ditto here that ESC is non-functional :((

  41. Dragon Eccleston says:

Confirming escape key problem, have to click the chat button to get the dialog to close to move. Reverting back to 2 FL’s ago as both this one and the previous FL client are unusable

  42. Sascha says:

Yeah. It’s really annoying not to be able to reset the view with the ESC-key.

  43. Able Whitman says:

I concur with the other people who have reported the ESC key is no longer working. This is incredibly annoying, and I would love to see this issue fixed.

  44. Estrellito Losangeles says:

  52. Usagi Musashi says:

GOOD WORK STEVE! Keep the updates coming! πŸ™‚

  53. 2k Suisei says:

Frame rate is still dropping to as low as 12 fps when panning around in an area with lots of prims. Yet the normal client remains at a stable 40-50 fps.

It seems the First Look client is only better in low prim areas where an improvement in performance isn’t really needed.

  54. Captain Gemini says:

Lots of people have posted how they are not going to try this client until the bugs are fixed. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF FIRST LOOK.

This is being live tested to look at problems happening, which might only affect a few systems for example. The main viewer is still the main viewer and Lindens are asking us to try this to highlight any problems. ALSO, FILE BUG REPORTS in-world using First Look, not moan about it here.

  55. Gillian Waldman says:

Well Steve asked us to post bugs and issues here…so that is what most folks are doing.

  56. hugsalot says:

Another bug I think I found has to do with the blue drop down message thingie you get often. Every time I see one I get those >>> next to the (ignore) button, even when it’s a new drop down message. Clicking (ignore) doesn’t show any messages behind it, unless I click the >>>.

But it behaves as if clicking ignore means I want to look at it later since it still appears when cycling though them clicking >>>. Can I just clear them all out or what?

  57. Vincent Nacon says:

I’m trying to wonder why the graphic rendering causes more bugs with interface and controls instead of caches and visual glitches so often?

I hope you know what you’re doing.

…still can’t click on object to buy if set for left click to buy.

    (moaning is good, sometime)

  58. Ralph Doctorow says:

The ESC key no longer reverts back to normal viewing. If I focus on something in the distance, then hit the ESC key, it used to get me back to the normal camera position, now it stays forcused on the remote object.

  59. Gosroth Otafuku says:

erg, same esc key problems… that key is so vital when you are trying to do things quickly…

  60. Gazz Galatea says:

I would just like to comment that the last three revisions have gotten slower and slower for me. Now First look is only a couple FPS higher than the standard client. It used to be twice as fast or more than the standard one.

    CPU: AMD (2211 Mhz)
    Memory: 1024 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
    Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 6800 GT/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW! (X2 SLI alternate frame rendering mode)
    OpenGL Version: 2.0.3

  61. Well, I have now a tiny issue with the way FL works. On the regular viewer, since textures take so long to render, on very texture-intensive areas, I get very low FPS, and all textures are mostly unrezzed β€” which is “normal” for me.

FL changed all that. Textures load now uncannily fast, most of the time (yes, even starting from a clean cache), that although I now start to appreciate some of the buildings which I had never seen before in their full splendour of colour and detail β€” but this also means the graphics card needs to work extra time to render all that detail πŸ™‚

This is a typical complain that doesn’t help anything hehe. You can’t have both the cake and eat it. Ah well. Perhaps one day an option will come out to reduce the drawing distance to 32 πŸ™‚

  62. william Fish says:

question… who decides what features to take out.. such as the esc key and account history button… just curious… can we vote on stuff like this next time or do this options affect the performance of the clients?

  63. Sindy Tsure says:

When a single dialog pops up, it shows >>> on the bottom right, like there’s more dialogs below it.

Also, add me to the list that really don’t like the ESC changes.

  64. Sean H says:

@57 William I don’t think Esc was a feature taken out, I think it is a bug. This is beta software after all that we are testing to find these little bugs.

  65. CaptJosh Au says:

What’s odd to me is that I have yet to experience any bug with the blue popdown dialogs whatsoever. They have worked flawlessly for me no matter which First look version I’ve been using. Also, I greatly appreciate the FL viewer now showing the same opening screen as the release viewer. It makes it much easier to check things like latest Blog entries and grid status.

  66. Gillian Waldman says:

Ditto @60 – I have not had the blue dialogue issues either.

I expect ESC will be back in the next one

Now, back to worrying about how my husband can’t even log in with First Look…

  67. Gazz Galatea says:

Esc key works fine for me.

  68. CaptJosh Au says:

Esc not working is NOT a feature as the ill-informed earlier poster assumed. It is most deffinitely a BUG.

  69. Likewise, Esc key isn’t working. Right now it’s not a big deal because I’ve just logged in but I suspect over the weekend I’ll be driven mad. Hope someone’s in on the weekend to adjust that little bug. >3

Texture loading seems toned down in a good way, it’s less aggressive and rarely seems to cause my frame rate to drop more than 2-4 fps unless I turn a lot. At the very least it doesn’t cause a system lock up like the previous version. It still seems to lose a lot of textures while turning though, I can turn right 90 degrees then left 90 degrees and have to load all the previous textures again. Oddly, those textures are not visible, at least to my perception, so once again it’s my belief that the client is requesting textures for objects that have been culled, something it shouldn’t do.

Seems more system friendly than the previous version, I can run it for a while and not have to worry about my computer getting slower as more textures are accumulated, requiring me to restart the client to get reasonable system response times back. It also seems to like sharing with other programs again, and I can swap between it and Firefox very quickly, even after Firefox has been in the background for several minutes.

Flexiprims seem to update very, very slowly however. I’m standing next to someone with…. Looks like about 50-60 flexiprims built into various attachments, and the lot of them are updating once every second or two. While she types, her hair updates so erratically that it’s like it’s all made of torii, unmoving. Yet when she turns or moves it flows (albeit very jerky flowing). It might just be the sheer amount of flexiprims however.

I’ll update with more in a while should I come across anything else.

Ok so first thing I do on my client is change my hair.. gues where it goes.. MY BEHIND… YAY. Otherwise than that it seems ok..

  71. Shar Murakami says:

For some reason the client menu won’t stick. I hit the right keys to trigger it and it shows and then fades away again. Am I missing something? I’m running a Mac Pro.

  72. Scratch my previous comment please. But i do have one more question… does the multithreaded rendering work in the OS X version of First Look as well? Because I tried it and nothing major happened. Thanks.

  73. Grazel Cosmo says:

    1) ESC is not responding at all. It won’t reset view, unfocus text input boxes (IM and inventory confirmed). New issue in this release.

    2) If you get more than one dialog box (get the >>>) you can cycle through them but if you click on any of them (Ignore or one of the options) it hides the rest. They aren’t dismissed/ignored but you can’t choose from them until you get another dialog box to open meaning you always have at least one ‘unanswered’ dialog going on. This behavior I first noticed in last release and is not fixed in this one.

    * ESC key does not reset camera or unfocus floaters. Same issues as many other folks are reporting here with this. There’s just no escape in Second Life πŸ™‚

    * Dialog fix isn’t fixed. Clicking Ignore on scripted dialogs will close all open dialogs. Clicking OK on group notices will close all open notices. Using the >>> option actually crashes the viewer, when cycling through dialogs quickly (crash report dispatched).

    * Objects in notecards cannot be found in the database. I bug reported this in the last version, but it’s still ongoing in the current one, and I can replicate this 100% of the time. Make a New Note and minimise it. Create a new Object, take it to Inventory, give it full permissions and drag it to the (maximised) New Note. Save the New Note, open it, and copy the Object from the notecard to Inventory. Try to rez or wear the Object, and the database can’t find it. However, you can copy/paste and move the Object in your Inventory just fine, and it’s retained between logins.

    Whats your linux stats henri?

  85. Henri Beauchamp says:

In reply to Lina: Mandrake 10.2 (AKA Mandriva LE2005), Linux 2.6.20 kernel (vanilla), with a lot of personnal updates (10.2 is no more maintained, but compiling RPMs from Mandriva 2007 is no problem).

    Hardware: Athlon XP 3200+/1Gb RAM/Nvidia 7600GT

SL works just fine on this system since day one, but FirstLook stopped working after v58018. Note that I did not change anything to my system between FirstLook v58018 and v58390 releases…

It may look like a locale problem (I’m in fr_FR with iso8859-15 charset), but the “export LANG=en_US.UTF-8” work around does not work either for me.

And I’m not the only one with this problem… If it’s actually a locale problem, then my guess is that many (most ?) non US Linux users will run into it.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the chat bar *without* the esc key? I’ve never done it anyother way but don’t want it in my view all the time.

I’m sure it’s a bug and will be fixed… but have crossed fingers just in case lol

I noticed LL was suggesting that people exclude the texture cache from their Norton Anti-Virus list – I have AVG Anti-Virus, but I thought I would give it a go? (I usually live in a half rezzed world, unless I mouseover an object – I totally agree with the post that mentioned fully rezzing a scene, turn 90 degrees, turn back, and it’s all fuzzed again, and won’t fully rez again unless the objects are moused over *again* – it really destroys the immersive experience when you have to draw the world around you yourself!

Anyway, it’s better. I live in a private sim, with excellent performance stats, and sometimes I’m on the only person in the sim, but still, when I arrive, it can take up to a couple of minutes before I have a full environment around me, but without the anti-virus it can be almost instant?

Hmm, will post if I have any further information, but I think this is soemthing we should all look into.

it might be worth to rename ~/.secondlife to let it be regenerated by the viewer…

It crashed in Linux here, too (Debian unstable, freshly updated system), but I got it working by starting it not with

    env LANG=en_US.utf8 ./secondlife

So, there still seems to be an encoding issue…

  93. Homer Horwitz says:

… and I noticed that in the login screen, the text-input fields are a bit laggy. It takes ~0.1 seconds between keypress and the letter appearing in the textfield.

  94. Jesper W. says:

Regarding the ESC bug: – I concur, it’s a bug, and it’s a new one, and it’s a deal breaker (having to use menus to leave chat, in order to, say, jump, is no good…)
Ann O’toole’s no-anim-on-edit etc. request: – second that, option to toggle off would be nice

Overall: This is nowhere near as good as the 57679 version which I still use over the reg. viewer, even though it tends to crash on script editing (:o( – texture loading is noticably slower, not to mention that issue which I sincerely hope you’ll address, whereby textures will only fully load if hovered over.
No, they won’t, unless you zoom in and out and pan around a little, and then they do it slowly…
Then, for no apparent reason, textures – on me or surroundings – suddenly reload (or rebake as mentioned), going all blurry for a moment (and getting up if seated). Not a big problem, but certainly annoying.

Keep’em coming, guys – major leaps forward are seen in the FL program – but let’s do the time before releasing to GP, or they’ll slaughter it…

  103. Prospero Frobozz says:

Yikes. I’ve been a regular FirstLook user for quite some time– the performance is so much better on my Linux machine.

One form of crashing I get sometimes is that the display starts to go nuts. The screen starts flashing with groups of solid-color triangles all with a vertex right near the center of the screen; it looks like many horizontal triangles pointing to a vanishing point at infinity. Might even be a good special effect for a jump to hyperspace, but here it isn’t supposed to be there, and usually (but not always) leads to a crash of SL, and sometimes of my entire X server (thereby hanging hte machine and requiring a hard reset).

It happens infrequently, but I tried this new client for about 5 minutes and got it 3 times. Only one of the three times did (when I started up again) I get an offer to send a crash report (so I did).

    Ok, I’ve changed my mind… it’s terrible.

After re-logging, clearing the cache and other people re-logging, I was still wearing the dreaded white clothes with black writing all over it.

Chat messages that were sent or received were restricted to a 3inch wide line length instead of the full screen. So a long message take many screen lines. (A re-log fixed it but then it came back)

My co-ords are usually missing at the top of the screen.

No ESC key which is terrible

No ICONS at the top of the screen.

As far as I can see, the only good thing is that it “SEEMS” still possible to downgrade to a previous FL version.

  107. Lina Pussycat says:

This works for me fine under Ubuntu Edgy Eft aside from the escape key

  108. Micah Giha says:

Regarding the missing coordinates bug. They are displayed correctly if you have enabled the debug menu options ctrl-alt-d. I expect the developers (and many of those reading this) NEVER turn those menus off, so they likely never saw the problem. I was one of the people who never had them turned on, so I had missing icons, region name and some coordinates.

  109. Usagi Musashi says:

“No ICONS at the top of the screen.”?????????

  110. Lina Pussycat says:

In relation to your post 221 in the 58185 First look viewer blog post Usagi :

Usagi that sounds more like a Virus problem then anything I highly doubt it has anything to do with SL. Why is it that people point the finger at SL all the time for computer problems? There was a bit of a memory leak yes but did you ever think gee i may have a Virus. Wndows is riddled with them and your never totally secure sitting behind a software firewall or using the virus scanners out there. They look for known strains and protect what they can but they are open. Hardware firewalls do more but arnt perfect either but regardless.

I highly doubt that SL is at the root of the troubles there Usagi I’d look into other problems on your computer If you want a help fixing it ill post here real quick…. This process has to do with your nvidia drivers they likely got screwed up on the crash Some things do get damaged at times when you crash. Uninstall the nvidia drivers you currently have or install new drivers. That file being removed Nvsvc32.exe* is an essential thing.

As stated if you search the actual process : nvsvc32.exe is a process that belongs to the NVIDIA graphics card drivers. This process should not be removed to ensure that your graphics card drivers is working properly.

Anyways hope a reinstall of your graphics drivers fixes things πŸ™‚

With luck, my errors are discovered while they’re in [my internal] short term memory.

Hire somebody to get coffee if summer makes you that weak, and put up sexy posters if your personnel is over 30.

I probably wouldn’t mind it if the webpage wasn’t always behind. Talk about something that isn’t scalable… *sigh* Which sucks for me, because I happen to love the FL Viewer!

  117. Henri Beauchamp says:

Good news… I found the true work around for the locale-related crash under Linux… Simply add an:
    export LC_NUMERIC=en
in the secondlife bash script, just before the call to the binary.

The problem is related to how decimal numbers are encoded and decoded… In French, the decimal separator is a comma, not a point… So 10.5 decodes as 10, and .5 decodes as nothing valid (thus the crash).

As LC_NUMERIC is prioritary over LANG when decoding numbers, the “export LANG=en” work around is useless on systems with LC_NUMERIC set.

  122. I confirm the ESC and transaction history problems. The ESC problem is an absolute showstopper for me. How are birds and dragons supposed to navigate in SL? I have also had frequent crashes, recently, with the viewer, although, to be honest, I’m not sure if that’s client or server side.

The transaction history problems area nother thing, entirely. How are people supposed to either start or run buisiness in SL without an accurate and timely record of transactions being instantly available? The one, and only one, answer to that is that they can’t. That problem needs to be resolved quickly on both client and server side!

it is in all sims I visited and bought something today (quite some).

Another thing is that ‘First Look’ seems to get slower over time. It runs
as usual (good that is, at least for me) and then slowly degrades to
a very… ah.. comfy speed. When I restart it again, then the speed
is back and the degrading thing starts again. Usually about every

On all other accounts I am very happy with ‘First Look’ πŸ™‚

System: AMD Sempron 2400 (1,67 Ghz), 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon RX9250 with Omega Drivers, DLS 2000 using a modem configured as a Router (all ports needed by SL forwarded)

  127. Lina Pussycat says:

Web Page bugs pop up when they fix other bugs they found problems with it and thats the entire purpose of the FL viewer in the first place. Its to a test client and as such bugs are to be expects they say use at your own risk for a reason. People arnt fleeing the first look viewer because a good deal of us that go thru using it are using it for testing purposes to help it along.

People fleeing the viewer will only slow down the development of FL and most of the major bugs need to be worked out before it becomes the main client. A beta viewer is going to have probs entire purpose of Beta versions of things

  128. Ravanne Sullivan says:

With neither ESC nor ENTER closing the chat box this viewer is useless.

  129. Sparkly Rainbow says:

    Just my observations:
Fairly Stable – no unusual crashes yet

Blue Dialog/Notice box bug NOT fixed – still get them all dismissed when answering one stacked dialog. This is definitely the most annoying thing as far as I am concerned.

Can’t edit my other comment – but also the ESC key not working as it did before – this is very annoying as I used to use the ESC to get back to the standard view (especially when sitting).

This must be fixed as soon as possible – or another method for returning to the standard view is needed.

  131. The SHIFT-ESC trick does work to get me out of Chat mode. But, I have a huge problem. When I go into ALT-Click viewing mode, I can’t ESC out of that and my navigation keys (arrows) continue to operate as if I were viewing, instead of moving. This is a killer for me. I really can’t deal with that. Sorry, back to the standard client and waiting for the next iteration!

  132. Grazel Cosmo says:

Further testing after reading some comments:

Enter will close the chat bar (if you check the option for it in Preferences) though ESC will not take focus away from any text entry box or window, nor reset camera.

you can also go to view and reset view in the interum or if you saved the installer for the last one install it….

  134. Skalathrax Geiger says:

Really sorry to say that this is unfortunately the worst First Look release I’ve seen performance wise. This client went from absolutely incredible to almost unusable from release to release with me, the first being the most stable as far as framerate goes.

In this version of the First Look Client any attempt to pan my camera slaughters my framerate utterly, dropping me down to less than 5 FPS. I can’t even use it, I need to stick with the normal viewer.

    I’m on an Intel 3.4ghz Pentium 4, 512mb RAM, Radeon x700 256mb pro videocard.

I’ve gone from 50+ fps on the first look viewer to it being way, way worse than the old client.

  135. Skalathrax Geiger says:

Also, dear god, please bring back the ESC key functionality :/

  136. Geoffrey Steinbeck says:

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, or indeed if it is even a problem for everyone .. but on several of the First Look releases, including this latest one, I have found when uploading clothing that there is no sample avatar when previewing the upload. You see the clothing and the shape, but no skin/body underneath.

This makes it very hard to judge where the clothing “falls” on a body. At the moment, I am having to return to the main client in order to preview clothing uploads.

    Any one else seeing this?

The Double-Edged Sword of Friday Evening Releases. Its good because it gives us two days to test and find things, but at the same time when there is a major show stopper, we lose two days of testing things. And I consider the “Esc” key bug to be a show stopper.

I hate to say, I agree with a posting above that says new bugs are getting introduced hand over foot. It seems as though this First Look Render Pipeline client has turned into a completely independent branch of the client. What does any keyboard input have to do with the Render Pipeline? Or most of these introduced bugs? To me if we’re supposed to be testing a new rendering pipeline, why aren’t the first look changes limited to that segment of the code? It seems as though the LL has moved to a .dev/.stable version system, the release client changing infrequently(the stable branch), and those of us willing to accept the bugs of development get the First Look (aka .development branch).

Can we try and focus more on what we’re focusing on (the render pipeline) and less on other “Frills” being thrown in?

  146. Sami Tabla says:

Yesterday I heard through the First Look Group that the “broken” Transaction History option that was viewable in the regular viewer is not “broken” but in turns is handed off to the web page. And… this will become a bug… er… “feature” when the main client gets released.

I addressed this issue in the last viewer update blog entry and received no response to it.

Steve?: If this is true… it really… really… sucks!

Going to the web site is not a viable, workable solution… since.. as you are probably aware… thransactions there run approximately 12 hours behind (on a good day).

I realised that if this is incorporated in the Main Viewer that we will probably be told how great it is for us and how much of a server load is reliefed by LL taking this approach.

    Bad… Bad… Bad Idea!

AS LL seems to make it progressively hard for folks to keep a bizness operation going… this will add another reason for folk like me to just give up, move from my $195 a month tier and either stay in SL with a much smaller operation (and tier)… or… just give up on a world I’ve spent almost 3 years dealing with.

does this update support vista??? if not than when will i be able to second life again cause its a no go on vista and im very upset with LL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  148. Kinzo Nurmi says:

    @Dano:

I am running on Vista, no problems. Any problems you may have are due to video card drivers. I installed Vista-beta on an old laptop with a 32meg ATI video card. SL didn’t run, at first. I went to ATI’s site, got the new drivers, and bang – even with an underpowered video card SL ran well.

I just bought a brand new Core Duo2 machine with Vista and a Nvidia GeForce 7900 w/256meg. Out of the box, SL did not run. Went to Nvidia’s site, updated the drivers, and bang, we’re up and running at an average of 120fps……

In my experience, any problems with running on Vista are video card related, not compatibility with the SL viewer. As such, the issues you are having are probably way beyond LL’s ability to fix……’ya gotta go to your video card manufacturer.

@Steve L: Good work on the performance. The in-world experience is much improved, even in areas that are know for lag. The fix for language settings is also much appreciated……….

    Keep up the good work………

  149. Gillian Waldman says:

  150. Kenbro Utu says:

Woot! Thank you, thank you for listening about texture animations.. working as they should now. My beach is a happy place again. I will say it seems to be at the cost of maybe 4-5 FPS from the previous version, and worth every frame. Still with performance above that of the regular viewer. I would like to politely echo the requests for return of the escape key functions and the return of Account History information.

removal of the accounting information from first look viewer. I dont usualy get actually upset about much but the information on the transaction history is not as well laid out as the transaction information you get ingame and flipping a web browser open all the time means i can’t operate Second life in full windowed mode. NOw this is not a thread or anything but I am quite frustrated with this feature I can’t track anything and am doomd to use an outdated client if this is permanent. Now its gotten me frustrated enough that I can’t get good bookkeeping and sales information easily that I am actually thinking of closing up shop and leaving and just playing as a “freeloader” in second life building stuff and just giving up sales. I have only just started to actualy get anywhere but I feel like I have been shot in the foot honestly i find this upsetting and the fact that everyone keeps mentioning it an its not being commented on means it was done on purpose.

In which case I feel like I am banging my head on a wall. I had started the volunteer process for mentoring etc and was happy with second life with all its various quirks but to remove financial information when you are busy saying that businesses are taking an interest in second life well it makes no sense its a huge source of frustration for me right now i can’t use the new viewers due to lack of accounting history

If a get two or more dialogs, one after the other, and respond to the one on top, the ones on the bottom disappear along with the one on top.

If I perform an action which opens another dialog, the new dialog has the “>>>” on it, which will access the previous, errantly dismissed dialogs from the current session but, of course, when I use that dialog, the freshly-opened one is added to the queue of lost dialogs.

Major regression for me as far as texture caching goes. It’s almost as though, if texture handling were being done by an employee (this is just the sort of thing you want to hear in bug reports, I bet :>) that employee showed up to work for 58390 three sheets to the wind. Previous release was marvelous; not only with the startup improvements (which thankfully persist) but in cases of app closure (which are now strained badly again).

I’m not using any AV software while the app is running, nor am I running anything else that would unnecessarily consume resources, and I fail to see why the team is making allowances for those who do. You’re not downloading anything that could reasonably contain viruses or executables through the SL interface, so resident scanning is just ratcheting up your drive and memory exertion and consuming extra CPU cycles. In my overinflated opinion, you’d be doing more people a favour by telling everyone NOT to run extraneous software and services while gaming than featherassing those who do so and encouraging it. In any case, I suppose it’s progress with every release, and I’m really looking forward to the next one.

Just goes to show how hard a job Lindens have having to program with so many different set-ups. I could not even get to the First Look log-in screen with the Omega drivers. Have you tried the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI? You only mention old Asus drivers. I also noticed a definite improvement in image quality with the Catalyst drivers. I was using the Omega drivers for playing shooters, and they worked very well, but I have to repeat that the latest Catalyst drivers seem to be an improvement for my 9700 Pro in SL.

    OK, this is NOT good:

Frame rates even SLOWER at known and controlled (my island) location.

Escape no longer functions to ‘home’ the camera – awful!

The transaction record issue is making life extremely difficult, especially as the recent communication screwups have resulted in a flood of ‘where’s my xxxxx’ from customers and it’s simply NOT POSSIBLE to check the transaction because the web page is so out of date and real time transaction records aren’t now accessible.

Clothing/attachment/AV texture loading is erratic and slow. Several times now I’ve TP’d to find part of my UI textured on my clothes, or a vendor texture applied to my face or hair! Rebake fixes – but…
Oh, and on the subject, unwanted rebakes occur anything up to 20 mins after logon/tp!?!

Still getting boots and hair shoved up my ass on TP!

I’m getting ‘flash of lightning like’ display flickers from time to time.

Much, much worse, when you crash (WHEN, not if, lately) on relaunching the viewer and logging in the login fails at ‘Precaching’. Not every time, just about 50% of the time.
Sometimes after 10-15 minutes it will complete pre-caching. Mostly it doesn’t. Doing, quit – relaunch – prefs – clear cache – quit – relaunch – login DOES NOT HELP.

On quit I get the ‘program isn’t responding’ dialogue from Windows.

The only solution appears to be a full uninstall – reinstall.
Clearly the cache is being corrupted in some way by crashes – which are currently a regular feature of SL – and not ‘cleaning up’ properly.
First of all this didn’t use to be a problem. Secondly, given the propensity of SL for crashing of late (in either client!) it’s a completely unacceptable bug for users to be saddled with – please fix.

Look, guys, I probably don’t appreciate just how complex a job it is sorting this viewer, BUT… how come I at least started out with a functional fast reliable First Look viewer, which seems to have gone down hill more and more since you ‘fixed’ a whole lot of minority issues and in the process saddled me with a whole range of major issues?

Reality Check Time! http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php makes it perfectly clear that SL WON’T RUN on certain graphics cards – in exactly the same way as a large number of graphics intensive games/apps won’t. That’s life – welcome to the real world of PC gaming!

Yet a lot of effort (producing a lot of bugs) seems to have gone into ‘fixes’ for unsupported graphics cards/chips – WHY?
When I joined SL my system, including graphics, was barely adequate – but I very swiftly upgraded.
So WHY is LL now pandering to people with outdated/unsupported/oddball graphics systems with the resulting performance hit for those of us who have the commitment to SL and the common sense to ensure we have supported hardware?

Please give that question a little thought – if the answer is, as usual, ‘numbers’ – please check your math. People with min spec and above PCs FAR outnumber people with non-mainstream hardware. The risk of alienating the mainstream users to benefit the non-mainstream is not a viable proposition.

System: Intel core2Duo 6600, NVidia 7600 GT, WINXP, 1gb RAM
Monitored simply with Task-Manager, all other Programs stopped:

Startig SL: 660 MB physical Memory available, Swap Size about 400 MB.

After some time Moving in-world, the system slows down and gets laggy.

12 NB physical Memory availlable, Swap Size 1,8 GB ….

Re-log sets back to the starting values, after about 30 – 45 minutes it slows down again, and again memory is “eaten up”.

  172. Gillian Waldman says:

I do not have *any* crashes with the First Look viewers at all anymore. This has been the single most stable release since I joined.

The ONLY issues I have are:
    – Constant (approx every 20 minutes and sometimes after TP) rebaking of avatar textures (skin, clothing, attachments) and slow on changing clothes.
    – Slow texture loads from vendors or flip books

I do miss the ESC key but I suspect it will be back in the next release.

I am very happy with First Look in terms of stability. Not as happy with the AV texture issues mentioned (by me and some others) ad nauseum πŸ˜›

I wonder – could it be a Windows XP Media Center issue? Those I have talked to are all running this version of XP.

    Good work, Steve.

I agree with Gillian it has been very stable for me also. If I crash its because a sim went down or something not Viewer related. If the Blue box bug and the escape bug were fixed I wouldnt have a single complaint. Though in the last couple days its been hard to tell the differance between a client or a server problem.

    Textures still slow to load.
Attachments still not working correctly after TP, sometimes sometimes not.
Inventory whackyness still persists / will not hold its place when I close it and try to return to editing / PLEASE add a minimize option instead of just a close inventory ” X ” on upper right hand corner of Inventory window.
The Escape key no longer works to exit out of Edit mode while editing prims.
VBO option still causing strange artifacts on screen when activated. This problem is the same on 3 computers I have tried.
Cross border simm flying or boating is still a crap shoot at best.
Some people still appear as squished Munchkin’s after a TP sometimes, sometimes not, LOL, a re-logg always solves the problem.

  187. Inigo Chamerberlin says:

Things just got a little worse. Crashed attempting to TP out of a dismally laggy sim (the name of which escapes me because the owner reportedly gets really ratty if anyone criticises his sim) and the crash logger crashed too! Which means that crashes of this ‘type’ probably aren’t being recorded…

Furthermore on login, which should have been to my previous location (lagsville) I actually rezed 4 sims ‘back’ from where I’d been when I crashed.
Otherwise a fairly uneventful day, except for the points mentioned in 166 previously. STILL finding hair and boots up my ass on TP.

Is it just me or is FL magnifying the difference between laggy and non-laggy sims? Because places that are normally fairly fast are still quite fast, but laggy sims are nearly impossible at the moment, and there’s no ‘slightly laggy’ at present. It’s either quite fast or the lag pit from hell – how come?

Oops, lost another $200 on a purchase. No real biggie I suppose, I just need to revert to the original client to shop. And when you do… wow the difference is just so apparent.

While the FL client is handling this load of 35,000 people on the grid fairly well the original client is abysmal. Water goes missing, people are invisible (apart from floating hair), rez after TP (when you can TP) is so slow and so on.

I wonder how many of these problems are due to the extreme load?

But I confirm the attach at 0,0 bug mentioned earlier. It’s almost like the TP with Shoes in your butt bug but happens on an attach. Detaching and reattaching fixes it nine times out of 10.

Hmm, the other bug is not FL related, but with a sit throwing your camera to 0,0,0 in the sim you are in many times you get to see all the objects people have lost are all sitting at 0,0,0 in the sim. A little testing shows rezzing an object with the land security set to group only may rez and objects may not enter when you are not in the land group throws the object to 0,0,0 in that sim πŸ™‚

  190. Ike Herouin says:

Not to monopolize on my personal comment allowance, but I also echo the problems outlined by Ms Waldman above (@ 173) on an XP Home and Tablet (i.e. non-Media Center-specific) basis. However I must add that Mr Chamerberlin’s (@ 166) proposed solution of a full app reinstall has no effect on these issues or those I vaguely outlined before (vide supra; ibid.) nor is there any substantiability to others’ frequent and adamant obtestation that video card drivers are somehow universally culpable. To wit, the only real benefit that could possibly be pried from the dregs of the video-drivers barrel would be the routine use of a utility like Driver Cleaner Pro† during video card and various other driver updates/installs/hardware changes.

Don’t blame the moke! Eat your dinner! Twice!

daggered: Assuming you can find the free current version of this tool/suite, which used to be a damn sight easier than it was when I checked a minute ago at drivercleaner.net; a slightly older but freeware version can be downloaded from guru3d here.

  191. Gillian Waldman says:

The problems on the grid today were awful, but using FL, I still got 21 FPS in the Ahern WA, which is pretty darn good considering all that goes on there. I also saw Steve there undoubtedly doing his own tests in the laggiest spot on the grid.

Feel free to chime in if others are believe there might be a connection to slow texture loads and Windows XP Media Center…I can’t think of what else is different from what I am seeing in the comments. I could be very wrong – but might be worth a look. I do not have Norton installed and in fact, have disabled my AV software (Trend Micro) when using SL…so it’s not that πŸ˜‰

Usagi, you are right about turning off virus programs getting out of hand. There are some people (myself included) who are using Norton Antivirus’ Auto Protect feature and need to disable that ONE FEATURE for the First Look CACHE directory ONLY. This is a result of the cache system going from TENS of files (38 in my system totalling 1GB) in the standard viewer to TENS OF THOUSANDS of files (30,676 in my system totalling 1GB) in the First Look viewer. Auto Protect tries to scan ALL of these incoming files and in doing so renders the viewer unusable unless you have an hour after each TP to wait. Do not disable your Antivirus software completely.

  198. Lulu Flasheart says:

@187 – especially since the web transaction history page is hopelessly behind yet again – are they ever goingt o fix this?

  199. Brodie Rothschild says:

Yes, as a business owner, I rely on the transactions page in real time to monitor payouts. In-game I can alway check (even though its not in as nice of a format) the transactions paid to me…that being gifts and purchases. The risk goes up that scams, hacks or other malicous attacks on accounts will not get discovered quickly since the transaction delay has been an issue for over a month.

I am not one of those “yell at the Linden players” but this issue is one of my biggest frustrations and I have not seen it addressed anywhere. Is it an equipment update waiting to happen? Is it an integration issue with current updates? Is the plan to never be real time again with these transactions? I do appreciate the world you have created and understand the expansion issues you face but I am just looking for some feedback on this issue. Thank you.

Bugs still present that I run into constantly:

    1) Particles better than at the worst point in FL development but still very dicey, total particle output still seems to be considerably lower than main client. Particle emiotters are spotty and emit only maybe 80% down to 20% of their particles.

    2) Periodic freezing/unfreezing events when avs are in number.

    3) Hide Selected does not hide/unhide slected when option is turned on or off like it used too. (minor but annoying)

    4) Ocasionally one axis of the gnomen does not appear when the object yu are editing is embedded inside anouther object. I’m not takling about the hiding of the gnomen when it is pointed along your line of sight, these are perpendicular and in the main client are always visible. Changing viewpoint does not fix, only unselecting and reselecting the object does.

    5) occasionally the axis sizing handles do not move and the prim being edited dissapears while is it being sized.

Ths latest release is not ready for main client status until the top two are taken care of at east, prefereably all of them and the other bugs other people are reporting as well.

We appretiate your hard work, a lot of terrible bugs have been squashed lately, but there are a few left to go. Keep up the good work!

If only I had the confidence that the server people were as hard working as you guys :/ server/db prblems are killing SL even as yo are trying to make it better.

I have a Mac Pro, with the dual 2.66 Ghz Xeon chips, 2GB of ram, and the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT video card.

There is a problem with textures swapping and cycling, randomly and rapidly, that is making my SL experience truly miserable. I’ve made a video of it that I’ll be posting on my .mac page later today. This is a problem that has gone on for months and months now, I’ have entered bug report after bug report on this. YES, I have the LATEST video card drivers, and the LATEST updates on the OS and everything else. This problem happens in both the regular client and the “FirstLook” viewer as well.

This is a SERIOUS problem for me, being as I’m a builder, and am trying to work on new builds. It’s kind of hard to get the textures to match and work when they keep wildly cycling from one random texture to another like a psychedelic slideshow. At this point I’m seriously considering simply giving up on my Mac and having to *ugh* buy a Windows box, just to run SL without it giving me a migraine.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a way to FIX this bug! My patience is just about totally exhausted at this point. I am beyond angry and beyond frustrated. I really, REALLY do not want to have to get a windows box, or load “bootcamp” and then have to load XP on my Mac. But it’s starting to look like this is going to be my only choice.

I’m on my knees here. I’m literally BEGGING for help. PLEASE! PLEASE have MERCY on us poor Mac users. PLEASE fix this bug.

  206. Sean H says:

@206: Elliot, I have a bug similar on OS X from the day I joined but far worse, where 90% of the textures on the screen are seriously corrupted and flash very fast with images of the menu bar. But I am unable to cause it to happen on demand so I log, clear cache and restart which fixes it for a day or so.

Your demonstrated bug is sort of similar but far less intense so have you been able to duplicate it at will or is it random and intermittant for you too?

  207. Elliott Eldrich says:

    Hello Sean

The bug I experience is also random and intermittant, but there is one component I’ve noticed about it: When there are over 30k people on then it happens a lot, and if I go somewhere where there are a lot of avvies it happens a lot as well.

By the way, I log and clear cache all the time. In fact, I hit the clear cache button first thing upon logging in so that in case I crash, it’s set for the next login. If I don’t crash, then I hit clear cache again befor logging off.

For those who have fallen victim to not receiving purchases due to dialog bug. Take comfort in the knowledge that you are improving the SL economy by buying the same things twice. :-/

In my opinion an emergency fix for fecked ESC and buggered blue dialogs should have been released ASAP.

  216. Lilly says:

I’d like a link to download 58100… I miss the Esc key too much. And the dialogs. And the framerate. And…

  217. Lilly says:

I know FirstLook is WIP, and I agree with the fact that it may be buggy or incomplete. But. I don’t know how your release process work, it just feel like you bypass some very basic regression tests. The broken Esc key & the dialogs mess are the illustration of that, as it can be seen immediately.
I don’t know what you expect from users when you release a FirstLook with showstopers like that. Frankly, the 2 last releases stayed 20 minutes on my harddisk – they’re unusable, and then even with the best will we can’t actually _test_ anything.

Just try to open a new one… clicking some object with a menu f.e.
and then use the arrows to go to the old one back. Maybe then you also get your bought items back ;-).

  221. Sascha says:

Ahh, I forgot to mention that sometimes the viewer crashes – just doesn’t respond, just freezes- while logging in when it’s precaching. Mainly happens with many people logged in. only a restart and cache clear helps. I checked it with the sysinternals tools: no activity anymore on disk / or memory.

  222. ostara voskhod says:

how frustrating. this latest one is causing me all sorts of problems.

about 2 or 3 minutes after logging in, the screen (the whole screen not just the SL window) will fill with yellow ‘garbage’ lines and the cursor will turn into a mass of yellow. then, after 10 seconds or so the screen will blank out and the monitor will actually click to standby!

if i shut the monitor off and on it sometimes catches again, but only to show a window of garbage, and then it will click off again. only hitting the reset button and restarting fixes it. i’ve reinstalled my nvidia drivers, and second life a few times but this is a completely reproducible error, it happens exactly the same every time i log in.

    here’s the info.

sadly, my next billing date is march 2, and if i don’t see any improvement by then i’m going to call it a day and cancel my account.

i am going to try rolling back to the previous FL client. it didnt give me this problem and was working slightly better even though it still froze frequently…

i’ve mentioned it before , i know my system isnt the fastest, and it doesnt have the best ram/video card config. but up until the beginning of the year it was working perfectly for me. i was getting at least 17-25 fps and no problems with crashes/freezes/etc. whatever changes have been made to cause me to no longer be able to access SL are definitely on linden labs’ side. i hope there’s something that can be done. this system works fine for all my other needs including other games/3d applications. so i have no interest in throwing $ into new hardware to try and fix SL. especially when i see other people with systems 3 or 4x better than mine are also complaining about similar problems!

    fingers crossed!

For those of you still watching this blog, that have an ATI 200M vid, make sure that you update your .net framework prior to installing an new open gl driver. The one that I used was located here…

Hope that this helps… After I installed this net framework, I was able to utilize a new open GL… this fixed the problem, and I hope that it works for you as well…

After rendering your new .net framework, and getting a new open GL , your New open GL should look something like this…

    CPU: AMD (796 Mhz)
    Memory: 1023 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
Graphics Card: RADEON XPRESS Series x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE2
    OpenGL Version: 2.0.6347 WinXP Release
    LLMozLib Version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla GRE:1.8.0.9_0000000000)

I actually used the open GL for the desktop, and it worked… so good luck to all of you, it is sometimes a rough road to travel… Hang in there…
