Trouble with Several Regions
Friday, October 6th, 2006 at 8:17 PM by: Jeska Linden10:00 pm: The fix has been tested on several of the troubled regions and appears to fix the problem. This means that all of the regions which have been down should be back up with the lost content returned.
9:05pm: We’re still working on the fix for the affected regions and hope to have more information soon. Thanks again for your patience.
8:40pm: We’re still in the process of fixing the wiped regions, which are still down. As soon as I have more information I’ll post an update.
8:20pm: While fixing the bug mentioned in my last post, we accidently lost the content on several regions in-world. We’ve brought these regions down in order to investigate and recover the content. Thank you for your patience.

Since there has been no update here for a while, I asked in live help about the status of fixing the bug with attachments (HUDs, etc.) being removed when zoning into many sims and not being able to attach them. I was informed by a Linden that the problem would be fixed with the “next update.”
Is this to mean we are expected to live with not having any of our attachments work until Wednesday afternoon? I ceartainly hope this is not the case.

When you say you lost the content on a region, does that mean all the content? If you went there during the “lost content” state, would it just be an empty sim?

Rue d’Alliez was totally empty, not sure about the others. It looked as if it had just been delivered and cut. Rather eerie. Thank goodness it finally returned to normal.

are these the same regions where there was trouble saving attachments?

Suezanne – yes, all of the content would have disappeared.

The client still crashes at least once a day for no obvious reason. I hope the next update helps.

@dzonatas – not a day has passed since I started on SL in Feb that it hasn’t randomly crashed for no apparent reason. Updates genrally introduce more problems than they solve and the next few updates are just attempts to fix it all again.
The next update should finally fix most of the recent crop of glitches, the one after that will add a load of new shiny and a load if brand new bugs, wash rinse repeat.
