New Data Feeds #2
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 at 12:01 PM by: Lawrence LindenHere’s the sample LSL script to go with the previous post and some additional information
Our WordPress configuration wasn’t too happy with me pasting the script here or uploading it as an attachment.
I’ll be making sample scripted objects available in my in-world office at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Grasmere/226/45/40/?title=Lawrence%20Linden%27s%20Office
Please take a copy of the LindeX Stats Sample object on my desk, and soon the SecondLife cube on my desk will also be copyable.
One of the example objects that I’m testing right now is an object that will capture and record the moment when SecondLife’s population passes 1,000,000. I’ll make the script code available later this week once my testing is complete.
Cheers!

This is very neat stuff…thank you, Lawrence!
I particularly like the “resident data” feeds- I like stats, and had thought at various times about cutting my teeth on a script to read and display the data. Looking at what you put together will be fun, indeed!

Lawrence big kudos to you
Previously i had not know exactly how well i am doing in SL basically had to guess by trying to get info form others on sales. but now since i know how much i am selling and with this new info I can now with some certainty determine how well i am doing business wise in SL. lets just say the Info put a smile on my face.
now if some one could only get statistics on the social aspect of Sl……. OH wait i already know how i am doing in that area and i don’t need to be reminded how bad i am doing LOL!!!!

Interesting.
What I really want is to be able to read the number of main agents in a sim. So that I can script a neighbor-friendly camping chair/pad which refuses to accept clients once a sim gets too full.
Encourage club owners to show more respect for their neighbors right to actually use their land……

Why not post the script on the scripts thread in the forums? Then we won’t all have to go crowd into your office!

It would be nice to be able to practice scripting “off world” so we wouldn’t have to log in just to try out and debug a script. Perhaps have a “sandbox” available in real world or something?

Ive tried on at least three occasions to get them from the office listed above (now Zee’s office) and I have also tried other means of communication prior to this comment, but so far with no success.
Zee, the example objects are not copyable, and havnt been for months. Please tick the allow anyone to copy box so that we can use these examples as intended.
